The global art scene descends on Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach with world-renowned galleries, cutting edge artists, deep-pocketed collectors and a slew of celebrities and socialites buzzing through town. That means one big party. From secret pop-up nightclubs to A-list VIP fêtes, Art Basel is an exciting week for Miami nightlife.

If you’re looking for a buzzy scene, South Beach’s trendy hotels are always a good place to start. From lobby bars and trendy restaurants to onsite art installations, you can’t go wrong ducking into 1 Hotel, Faena, The Confidante, W South Beach, Soho Beach House, The Plymouth and many more while you’re out and about during Miami Art Week. If you’re hoping to rub elbows with the “it crowd” during a night on the town, here’s your guide to some of Miami’s hottest nightlife destination during Basel.

Basement no Miami Beach EDITION

Basement at The Miami Beach EDITION promises to be a hot spot for late night Art Basel after parties. The subterranean club-lounge boasts the intimate Discobox dance club hosting everyone from Questlove to Soul Clap, an ice skating rink and a four-lane bowling alley. Basement knows how to throw a serious party with a light-hearted, wild spirit.

Doheny Room at Delano

A South Beach classic, the Delano is always buzzing during Art Basel, whether it’s an exclusive soiree by the pool, an installation in the lobby or an impossible-to-get-into pop-up club. Doheny Room is the Delano’s newest nightlife destination just off the iconic Philippe Starck lobby. It’s sure to inject new energy into the hotel during Basel. Tough door aside, the Delano is an essential stop during Art Basel—and who knows? You might get lucky at the velvet rope.

LIV at Fontainebleau

For art lovers in search of the megaclub experience, all roads lead to LIV at the Fontainebleau. Going strong for nearly a decade, the club will reopen in time for Art Basel after a multi-million dollar renovation. Revelers can expect a star-studded lineup with A-list DJs like David Guetta, Tiesto and Calvin Harris.

ORA

ORA is South Beach’s newest megaclub highlighting VIP service and a more “grown up” nightlife experience. With everyone from Theophilus London to 2 Chainz and Snoop Dogg on the mic, it’s always a high-energy party inside the gilded space. When you need a breather from the dance floor, seek the staircase to the second floor where you’ll find the Anti-Social Room, a chilled out cocktail bar specializing in classic martinis.

Bardot

Midtown’s premier live music venue, the vibe at Bardot changes nightly depending on the act. From experimental DJ sets to indie bands, there’s always a killer lineup during Art Basel. It’s a smart idea to buy tickets in advance for any shows you’re dying to see.

Mana Wynwood

Occupying a 100,000 square-foot warehouse space on the outskirts of Wynwood, Mana Wynwood has become the ultimate cultural event space hosting concerts, art shows and creative happenings. In year’s past, they’ve staged everything from a Kendrick Lamar concert to the HIVE pop-up lounge featuring a skate park, sculpture garden and live art installations during Art Basel.

Employees Only

One of New York City’s coolest cocktail clubs recently opened an outpost in the heart of South Beach. Count on Employees Only for an under-the-radar speakeasy scene inside a dimly lit bar serving expertly mixed cocktails, as well as an Eastern European bistro menu. If you can stay out late enough, the bar is famous for serving a round of complimentary homemade chicken noodle soup around 4 a.m.

Sweet Liberty

Tucked away off Collins Park, Sweet Liberty is a favorite new South Beach locals hideaway. The airy space has a kitschy, tropical-industrial vibe with exposed rafters and palm tree wallpaper set against a bar lined with glittering liquor bottles. The brainchild of legendary local mixologist John Lermayer, Sweet Liberty boasts a killer cocktail menu complimented by delicious snacks like cauliflower nachos. The vibe is low key, yet spirited with a great lineup of live music and indie DJs.

Broken Shaker

Broken Shaker is the ultimate spot for a chill party by day and night in South Beach. Set inside The Freehand hotel’s shaded courtyard with mix-and-match patio furniture and overhead string lighting, it’s full of subtropical charm. Founded by Gabe Orta and Elad Zvi, it’s also home to some of the most creative cocktails in the city. During Art Basel, expect a slew of hip parties and a cool crowd.
